About Us
The West Side Calhoun County Navigation District (the District) was formed on July 8, 1946 and was approved for $125,000 bond issue for the construction of the Barge Canal. The District does business as the Port of West Calhoun, and operates the Long Mott Harbor and Seadrift Harbor, which link directly to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway via the Victoria Barge Canal.
At the Port of West Calhoun we pride ourselves on offering our customers and our community a business model built on traditional Texas values where our word matters and at the end of the day, we all share a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Long Mott Harbor provides facilities with 2 docks for commercial and industrial barge loading and unloading. Property is available for laydown yards, warehousing, tank terminals, and other projects needing multi-modal transportation access. Options also exist at the Long Mott Harbor for dual rail service availability via the UPRR and BNSF.
Seadrift Harbor facilities include berths for commercial seafood production and oil & gas exploration. There are also recreational boat slips and plans include the expansion and improvement of these facilities.
We look forward to partnering with you on your business development and transportation projects
